The average length of time for a youth minister at one position has been said to be between 12 and 24 months. There are a variety of reasons for this. Sometimes it’s a season of life. Sometimes it is a step while in seminary to be ordained. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and 12 months is as long as you can hold on. Sometimes a better offer comes along.
Lives can be changed and awesome ministry can happen in short term, however I want to talk about 5 benefits of long term student ministry that I believe cannot happen in just a few months or years. Check out this episode of the ministry2youth podcast.
